A young couple bought a ranch that was the perfect size for just the two of them in Acton. But 3 kids later they had maxed out their 3 small bedrooms and were in desperate need of another bathroom and more living space. They loved their town, neighborhood and neighbors and didn’t want to move. Blessed with a large lot, they chose to add on. They decided to Master Plan for all the work they would eventually do, and build just the part they could afford now. They added a second story with four bedrooms and two bathrooms and changed the First Floor Bedrooms into a Family Room. This Cape solution, with gables and dormers to allow head room, fit the Owner’s desire to stay within the scale of the neighborhood. A new covered entry adds space at the front door.  In the future, a garage with play room above will be added.
